𝗧𝗵𝗲 “𝗕𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗮 𝗠𝗼𝘇𝗮𝗿𝘁” — 𝗔 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝘁𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 The so-called 𝗕𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗮 𝗠𝗼𝘇𝗮𝗿𝘁 was painted in 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝘇𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗴 in 1777 by an unidentified artist. It was copied from a now-lost original for 𝗣𝗮𝗱𝗿𝗲 𝗚𝗶𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗶, who had commissioned it for his celebrated gallery of composers in 𝗕𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗮. Although the portrait was not highly regarded…
