The Facebook community connected with Classical Archive was created around 18 months ago as the interactive and constantly evolving side of the project. It now brings together 24 specialized groups, a professional English-language feed and a dedicated Spanish-language page, Compositores de Música Clásica.
Across these communities, more than 195,000 members share an interest in composers, historical periods, opera, chamber music, symphonic repertoire, conductors, instrumental soloists and recordings. More than 10,000 publications have already been shared, ranging from biographies, anecdotes and historical photographs to recordings, interpretive comparisons, documents and longer articles.
The purpose of this network is simple: you do not have to follow everything. Each listener can choose the communities that best reflect his or her own musical tastes. A Bach enthusiast can follow the Bach and Baroque groups; a lover of late Romanticism can join the Bruckner–Mahler community; those interested in interpretation can follow Conductors and Instrumental Soloists or Recordings Classic Music. In this way, Facebook becomes a personalized extension of the archive.
